A Little About Us

Tandoor of India Fairport is located in the Perinton Square Mall, neighboring with businesses that provide you with the best in banking, health, and beauty. This restaurant is owned and run by Raj and Simmy Khosa.

Raj’s brother, Bhupinder Singh, runs the Tandoor of India Henrietta with his wife, Ninder. Their shop is located in the heart of Rochester, New York, surrounded by the rich cultural attractions that New York has to offer.

Both couples are passionate about doing things the Indian way. We love cooking good food that delights their customers and gives back to the community! We also partner with two local charities, fostering the family values that have sustained them through it all. Every Thursday, we serve our craft Indian dishes at the local Open Door Mission, feeding the homeless with the best meals of their lives. We are also strong supporters of the Children’s Tumor Foundation in its fight to end NF. We are a community passionate about sharing our culture and their food with anyone who needs it.

Our Food

We only serve the best in the business. Start your meal with one of our many options for naan bread, either sweet or savory. They could be stuffed with onions and cilantro, chicken and cheese, chocolate, or dried fruit, among the rest. We offer curries, chilis, jalfraizes, and many other traditional dishes with chicken, lamb, beef, or vegetables. We pride ourselves on our scrumptious biryani rice dishes and tofu specialties. Each and every dish is hand-crafted with only the best ingredients that India can offer.

A little known fact about Indian food is that it is full of health properties. The spices that add flavor and complexity to each dish also supply wonderful benefits to your body. Cardamom and cinnamon are strong antioxidants. Coriander and cumin are antimicrobials; coriander is also full of helpful anti-inflammatory properties while cumin is rich in iron. Ginger and turmeric have both been considered “super foods” because of the many health benefits they provide. Ginger strengthens metabolism and digestion and helps reduce nausea, inflammation, and pain. Turmeric is excellent for reducing inflammation and can even help reduce heart attacks in those who have gone through bypass surgery. No matter what dish you choose, you’ll be sure to find a spice that will offer healing to you in both body and soul.
