As the name suggests, Fairport is a small beautiful village in the town of Perinton NY, situated 9 miles from the city of Rochester. Named as one of the ‘Best Places to Live’ by Money Magazine in 2005, Fairport is also known as the “Crown Jewel of the Erie Canal”. Also in 2008 ,the village was listed among the top 100 Places to Live by Relocate America. The village of Fairport and nearby places have a number of attractions such as Ganondagan State Historic Site, Arcadia Historical Museum,Fellows Road Park,Thomas Creek wetland Walk, Lollypop Farm etc. It is in vicinity to many colleges and to the University of Rochester. Canal Days celebrations in June and Purple Foot Festival in September are two of the most famous celebrations of this area.
